As photographers, we rely on beautifully dressed backdrops to complement and sometimes frame the people in our shots. Someone who is taking the wedding accessories market by storm is Shaan Patel of Rickmansworth-based The Flower Shack.
Shaan started his business in late 2019 and has already built an impressive reputation for the wonderful quality and originality of his designs. With a creative mind and adventurous spirit, Shaan personally oversees every brief.
His is a true family business with his parents and relations helping him dress venues with his imaginative displays of flowers and props.
As a relative newcomer to the industry, Shaan brings an exciting fresh perspective to his role. He loves to work with his clients to interpret their ideas in new ways, making each event distinctive. This is something we have in common, as we too like to encourage our clients to avoid copying other weddings, and instead work with the characteristics of the venue to create photographs that use new angles or give a different perspective to what others may have used.
A wedding or other celebration is a very personal occasion, which we both believe deserves a tailored approach.
The Flower Shack has an ethos of quality over quantity which runs through everything they do. They like to focus on one event at a time to ensure their clients receive the highest level of service along with top-quality produce. Flowers and props are sourced directly from abroad and even the artificial blooms they use are so realistic they are often mistaken for fresh flowers.
Some of Shaan’s client creations have already gone viral on social media which means he is in great demand and has some very exciting and prestigious events coming up in 2024. Celebrity or not, each client is guaranteed a high level of service with exquisite attention to detail. The Flower Shack prides itself on going that extra mile to ensure each event gives the couple the best possible experience that meets their brief and budget.
Asian weddings are just one aspect of Shaan’s repertoire. He is just as likely to be staging a Jewish or Muslim wedding or any other celebration or milestone.
